ABOUT LIAM
Liam Johnson is a comic and screenwriter from the North East of England, now residing in Manchester. Having written almost twenty-five hours of primetime television his work has even been included in BAFTA-nominated packages.
After impressing Producers with an original spec script, Liam joined the Emmerdale writing team in March 2020, a career move which was said to bring the entire industry to a standstill (ahem!) Once both the world and production started back up again, originally favoured for his natural comedic flair and unique characterisation, Liam quickly moved up the ranks to become a core member of the writing team. He now contributes extensively to both the high-budget, stunt-based episodes but also the more emotionally charged and critically acclaimed episodes and storylines, including Marlon’s stroke, Paddy’s suicide attempt, and Zak Dingles’ final toast. He has written over forty-eight episodes and counting.
Liam also works in comics, where he is one of the main contributors to the Judge Dredd All-Ages spin-off, Cadet Dredd, and also the lead writer on the recently returned grizzled sci-fi noir series, Armitage.
Liam has partaken in various television writers' rooms and also written jokes for the radio comedy panel show, Breaking the News.
He is currently developing a number of projects, both in comics and television, and is keen to bring his proven comedic and dramatic skills to new projects.

COMICS
Exploding onto the comic scene by winning Thought Bubble's 2019 2000 AD Pitch Competition, Liam has written a number of hit strips for the world-famous comic and its sister magazine, The Judge Dredd Megazine. This includes both original sci-fi and horror tales and also those with 2000 AD’s long-established characters. He is now one of the main contributors to the Judge Dredd spin-off, Cadet Dredd, and also the lead writer for the recently relaunched sci-fi noir strip, Armitage.
“Writing is the most fun you can have by yourself.”
